Job SummaryParticipates in negotiations with internal or external clients; assisting clients in the development of business plans, strategies and approaches to take advantage of business opportunities.

Manage vendor relationships including conducting planning session with vendors and service providers to define project scope and performance expectations.

    • Responsible for all phases (planning, scheduling and managing) of the design and construction process of a complex construction or refurbishment projects
    • Develops, updates and communicates detailed project plans with internal partners and external customer teams to ensure success of Lab Design, construction installations.
    • Sets and Manages Client expectations
    • Make recommendations to alert leadership team of impending business issues. Execute process improvement tools and methodologies as part of customer solutions to provide customer value
    • Compile, analyze and share cross-functional and customer data for business reviews
    • Communicates goals and project status with facility leadership
    • Evaluates and provides guidance during all planning stages of lab project, including making economic comparisons of development schemes, recommending options in conformance to master plan
    • Leads internal stakeholder team(s) in establishing scope, budget and schedule, and maintains such commitments through programming, design, construction, and close-out processes
    • Adherence to standard work, on-time completion rates and customer satisfactionQUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)
      • Bachelor's degree required
      • Project Management Professional (PMP) degree preferred
      • 5+ years in customer facing project management within construction industry; labs preferred
      • Six Sigma certification or formal training preferred
      • Experience working in supply chain, procurement or distribution requiredKNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)
        • Excellent attention to detail; must be analytical process oriented, and highly motivated with results driven leadership abilities
        • Set Priorities, multi-task and meet deadlines. Manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
        • Understanding of change management challenges associated with process improvement and implementation
        • Excellent presentation and selling skills
        • Excellent verbal and written communication skillsENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT (Under Typical Positions)
          • Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.
          • Travel to VWR, supplier and customer locations.
          • Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems.
          • A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis.
          • Minimal physical effort is required.
