Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join the Product Support Team to support Transportation Systems Development. This position will be located in Roy, UT and support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here . What You'll Get To Do: The selected candidate will possess strong structural and dynamics analysis skills to support development of the GBSD major maintenance vehicles. The candidate will have demonstrated background in structural and dynamic analysis including use of FEA tools as well as strong oral and written communication skills to document and present results. The candidate will be responsible for performing structural and dynamic analyses during all phases of vehicle development including requirements development, concept creation, design analysis, and verification testing. Ensures that supplier designs are capable of meeting requirements by directly supporting supplier and performing independent assessments. Must possess the ability to tackle complex issues, perform multiple types of analysis, and work directly with vehicles leads to provide timely support. --As a full-time employee of Northrop Grumman Space Systems, you are eligible for our robust benefits package including:

- Employee Discounts This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. UTSpace Qualifications Basic Qualifications: --- Minimum 5 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline; 3 years with a Master's degree; 0 years with a PhD --- Proficient with 3D design / 2D drawing CAD utilizing NX or similar software --- Proficient in performing static and dynamic FEA utilizing ANSYS, Abaqus or similar software
Preferred Qualifications: --- Master's degree in STEM related discipline --- Proficient with Teamcenter --- Prior experience in Aerospace industry --- Prior experience with vehicle dynamic analysis
