GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Wyoming Retirement Center is seeking a qualified individual to
fill the full-time MDS Coordinator position. The weekly schedule
(40 hours/week) may consist of both onsite and work from home. The
person in this position will ensure timely and accurate
completion/submission of MDS information. This position will work
closely with restorative and bowel/bladder programs. This position
will also perform other duties as assigned by the Director of
Nursing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and
are not intended to describe every function which may be performed
at the job level.
* MDS Duties - Leads interdisciplinary team in care planning.
Schedules and conducts care conferences. Enters assessment
information and ensures timely and accurate completion and
submission of MDS documents. Coordinates with a business office on
regulation/reimbursement changes and RUG coding.
* Administrative Duties Prepares data and reports for review by the
Nurse Leadership Team and the Quality Assurance Performance
Improvement Team.
* Nursing Duties - May assist with the rounding of onsite health
care providers; follow up on resident concerns as delegated by the
Director of Nursing. May assist with the paperwork for admissions,
re-admissions, transfers, and discharges. Serves as a part of the
Facility Leadership Team and may assist with coverage of shifts as
needed.
Qualifications
PREFERENCES:
Preference will be given to applicants who have worked in a skilled
nursing facility for a minimum of one (1) year.
KNOWLEDGE:
* Knowledge of nursing standards.
* Knowledge of MDS requirements.
* Ability to be able to assess and monitor residents' health needs
and care.
* Knowledge of organizational skills to administer meds and
treatments in a timely manner.
* Knowledge of and familiarity with medical terminology, drugs, and
their side effects and interactions.
* Ability to handle stress, be well organized, and able to
multitask.
* Ability to communicate with staff, residents, and physicians.
* Knowledge and understanding of policy and procedures of the
facility.
* Knowledge of Wyoming Nurse Practice Act and Standards of Nursing
Practice.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (typically in Nursing)
Experience:
1-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Nursing)
with acquired knowledge at the level of a Nurse
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse
(RN) in the State of Wyoming
OR
Education & ExperienceSubstitution:
4-6 years of progressive work experience (typically in Nursing)
with acquired knowledge at the level of a Nurse
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse
(RN) in the State of Wyoming
Necessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to:
* Lift medical/patient equipment of varying sizes and weights up to
about 50 lbs.
* Work evenings, nights, and /or weekends when the situation
requires it.
NOTES:
* FLSA: Non-exempt.
* Telework options are available.
* A background check, including the taking of fingerprints, will be
completed through the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation,
the Department of Family Services, and the Federal Bureau of
Investigation for every successful applicant.
* Employees of this facility will be expected to follow all rules
and requirements established by the Centers for Medicare and
Medicaid Services regarding COVID-19.
* For the health and protection of the persons in our care, annual
influenza vaccination is required, as well as annualtesting for
tuberculosis.
* Pre-employment drug testing will be conducted on safety-sensitive
positions (direct patient care positions are considered
safety-sensitive). Drug and alcohol testing will be conducted on
any position if reasonable suspicion exists.
