Job DetailsJob ID2022-12-02CategoryParksStatusOpenPostedDecember 8, 2022 10:41 AMClosingDecember 31, 2022 5:00 PMParks Back to All Categories (Jobs.aspx) COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR The Community Outreach and Engagement Coordinator will oversee the departments marketing and community outreach efforts and will develop, implement, and evaluate the departments outreach and engagement strategies related to marketing, brand development, and volunteer coordination to connect the public to exceptional, accessible recreational programs, facilities, and services.The successful applicant will work with staff to identify and schedule volunteer needs and recruitment, will administer volunteer programs, maintain volunteer recruitment tools and supervise and train all volunteers on assigned projects. The successful applicant will also be responsible for the Departments marketing and community awareness campaign efforts, website, social media, branding and community engagement activities; will facilitate the development of bi-annual program, facility catalog, senior program brochure, e-newsletter and the Departments annual report. Work Schedule:Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. Hours may change based on operational needs. Salary: $26.89 28.21/hour plus excellent benefits. Salary at hiring will be dependent upon the applicants education and experience (this salary range reflects Steps 1 and 2 of a 7 step pay scale). ). Step increases are awarded annually until the highest step is achieved, additional longevity pay is earned based on years of service and COLA increases are provided each July. Exceptional benefits are provided including health/life insurance, retirement plan with generous employer contributions, voluntary 457 deferred compensation plan, sick leave, 10 paid holidays per year, 3 personal days per year and 3 weeks vacation leave per year. Vacation accruals begin immediately, increase with longevity and are available to use after 180 days of employment. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Business or Public Administration, Communications, Parks and Recreation Management, Marketing, Non-Profit Management, Public Relations or related field Five (5) years experience in event planning, venue management, project management or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience One (1) year supervisory experience Knowledge of computer programs and software applications, social media management, governmental accounting, budgetary and purchasing standards and procedures, public administration and standard office practices Must have a current drivers license or the ability to obtain within thirty (30) days of employmentRequired Materials: City of Billings job application Cover letter ResumeMust be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.The application and supporting documents can be submitted online atwww.billingsmt.govor to City of Billings, Human Resources, 210 N. 27th Street, Billings, MT 59101.
