SUMMARY Provides specialty expertise to an Integrated Behavioral
Health Program in a community health center. The Psychiatrist
supports primary care providers in the holistic care of patients.
The Psychiatrist participates in teaching residents, medical and
behavioral health providers and other staff, case consultation,
patient triage, precepting, chart review and short term patient
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the
following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assist in developing and maintaining clinical pathways for
Behavioral Health treatment in primary care.
Assess, diagnose and provide short term treatment to patients as
a member of the primary care team.
Participate in the triage and evaluation process; support
Behavioral Health providers and Case Managers in patient care.
Develop, lead, and monitor the behavioral science core
curriculum for the residency.
Support and participate in scholarly activity and research.
Participate in faculty development activities for continuous
improvement of skills.
Provide evaluations of resident performance in interdisciplinary
team settings and in communication.
Participate in the University of Washington Family Medicine
Residency Behavioral Health network group, including travel to
Provide education to residents, medical and behavioral health
providers and other staff including but not limited to didactics,
precepting, and health center conferences.
Participate in routine case review to support learning and

Refers patients to appropriate community resources and health
care providers as necessary.
Prescribes medications and therapeutic regimes as
Orders diagnostic tests and procedures as necessary.
Evaluates patients' test results and arranges for hospital
admissions as necessary.
Completes all necessary records and documentation in a timely
manner and consistent with RiverStone Health policies and
Participates in team meetings as appropriate to ensure delivery
of integrated patient centered care.
Provides clinical supervision and oversight for Nurse
Practitioners and Physician Assistants.
Maintain current privileges to practice as a member of the
medical staff of RiverStone Health, in accordance with RiverStone
Health policies and procedures.
Participates in fulfilling the vision, mission, goals and
objectives of RiverStone Health.
Recognizes and educates staff that managing patient care is a
team effort that involves clinical and nonclinical staff (e.g.
physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses,
medical assistants, behavioral health professionals, clinical
pharmacists, educators, case managers, administrative support, etc)
interacting with patients to achieve stated objectives.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduate of an accredited medical school
Successful completion of a residency in psychiatry
Board certification in psychiatry
Experience in a community health center and/or an Integrated
Behavioral Health model is preferred
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally in a
culturally fluent manner as a member of the patient care team
Physical and mental ability to effectively perform the essential
tasks and responsibilities of the position.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS :
Unencumbered license to practice medicine in the State of
Satisfactory completion of the credentialing and privileging
process including granting of appropriate privileges by RiverStone
Health Clinic’s Board of Directors
