JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Pathology Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Billings, MT Service Setting: Inpatient Coverage Type: Clinical + Call Coverage Period: ASAP Sep 09, 2026 Shift Schedule: Mon Fri, 8a 5p On-Call Shift Schedule: Mon Fri, 7p 7a Weekends, 7a 7a (24 hr) Call Type: Beeper Call Ratio: 6:1 Call Response Time: 20 minutes Reason for Coverage: Scheduling Need Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered by Agency PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 30 cases per day Phone Consults: 1-2 FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Cerner PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: No Temporary Privileges Available: No REQUIRED PROCEDURES Required: Surgical Pathology Dermatopathology Grossing or cutting frozen section Preferred: GI pathology GU Pathology Neuropathology Hematopathology (bone marrow, lymp nodes) Aspiration/bx of bone marrow Interpretation of bone marrow aspirate/bx Pediatric tumor pathology Cytology GYN Non-GYN Performance of FNAs Autopsy Non-forensic Forensic Hematolgy Microbiolgy Chemistry/Serology Blood bank JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: Board Eligible Licenses: Licensed in MT or Universal License (IMLC) Certifications: BLS Duties & Responsibilities Provide diagnostic pathology services, including surgical pathology and frozen section interpretation Perform grossing and cutting of tissue specimens as needed Cover beeper call on weeknights and 24-hour weekend call, responding within 20 minutes Collaborate with pathologist assistants and laboratory staff to manage a daily volume of up to 30 cases Ensure accurate and timely reporting of pathology results within the Cerner EMR system
