Registered Nurse (RN) | Nurse Manager Location: Billings, MT Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $3,946 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 4/6/2026 About the Position Job Title: Nurse Manager Profession: Manager Specialty: ICU Nurse Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Two years of clinical experience; Leadership/supervisory experience License: Current Nursing License to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers. Must-Have: - Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution. - Leadership, communication, problem-solving, financial acumen, clinical knowledge, resource management, patient safety, mentorship, and community outreach skills. Description: This job description applies to the Nurse Manager role. The role involves managing and supervising nursing departments. Collaborating with nursing leaders and other facility managers and departments is essential. The nurse manager plays a key role in ensuring excellent patient care, achieving financial objectives, and fostering leadership development. Responsibilities include developing departmental structure, processes, and outcome standards for one unit. 50% of the role is tactical, which involves day-to-day activities like staffing and equipment availability. 40% of the role is operational, including budget management and employee performance evaluations. The remaining 10% is strategic, focused on developing goals to meet organizational objectives. This role encompasses a range of responsibilities that report to a Nurse Director. The responsibilities include overseeing the clinical nursing environment and contributing to strategic planning and standards of care. Facilitating collaborative problem-solving and advocating for resources is crucial. Promoting shared decision-making while implementing the organization’s vision and values is essential. Additional responsibilities include managing budgets and ensuring employee engagement, recruitment, retention, and competency verification. The manager champions the use of available resources to ensure nursing care is efficient, effective, safe, and compassionate in line with current practice standards. It involves facilitating collaborative decision-making and ensuring staff is updated on executive-level activities. Assisting with the development and management of annual capital/operating and personnel budgets is required. Resources must be managed effectively to meet financial goals while modeling professionalism and employee engagement. The manager ensures a competent and sufficient number of staff to meet patient care needs, which includes hiring, orientation, retention, and employee satisfaction. Ensuring that new skill training and ongoing competency verification is completed annually through mentorship and educational opportunities is vital. Evaluating staff competency through performance reviews and peer reviews is part of the role. Coordinating performance and compliance with patient safety initiatives and regulatory requirements is essential. Facilitating the use of resources by nursing staff, such as nurse practitioners and specialty roles, is necessary. The manager serves as an exemplary figure, promoting integration of key commitments within all facets of patient care. Monitoring patient satisfaction using available service metrics and benchmarks to develop action plans is expected. Partnership with physicians at the unit level to achieve clinical, operational, and service goals is crucial.
