Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Cardiopulmonary Specialty: Respiratory Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Valid respiratory therapy license required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred Must-Have: - Experience with respiratory equipment and therapies - Proficient in patient assessment and documentation - Knowledge of EMR systems Description: Age range - Birth to Geriatric patients. Accountable for all respiratory care ordered by physicians. Follows all facility policies. Operates, maintains, monitors all CP equipment including but not limited to ventilators, oxygen devices, Vapotherm, PAP, etc. Administers inhaled medications and prescribed gases. Performs arterial, capillary, venous sticks, and testing. Operates ABG instrument for blood gas analysis. Acts as a clinical resource, assisting with decision-making, assessment, treatment, and documentation of respiratory care. Reviews patients' charts and obtains history for pertinent information to care for patients prior to each therapy or procedure. Performs accurate patient assessments and orders appropriate therapies based on respiratory therapy evaluation and treatment protocol. Documents patient assessments, care plans, evaluations, treatments, therapies, procedures, medications, equipment setup, and supply charges, timeouts for procedures, and critical values. Ensures physician orders are correct in the EMR, with verbal orders written per policy. Performs night shift duties as required by the department. Performs EKGs upon order or request. Holiday coverage required.
