Director of Product Management for the Organization Domain in the Research Data Platform Elsevier's Research Data Platform (RDP) provides datasets and data linking capabilities which enable researchers and research leaders to make high value decisions with confidence. The RDP is organized around core entities in the world of research, such as R&D organizations, researchers, and publications. The RDP's Organization Domain is chartered with leading the technical and commercial development of the Organization and Country entities and provides tagging and matching capabilities via the Organization Profiling System and OrgDB, Elsevier's database of organizations. We are looking for a Director of Product Management to lead to join our core team. The Organization Profiling System is the world's leading organization disambiguation system powering some of the world's foremost scholarly databases such as Scopus, ACM Digital Library, and IEEE Explore. Organization Profiles are automatically constructed from a diverse array of sources that include tens of millions of research artifacts and cover tens of thousands of research-producing organizations. The Organization Domain is also responsible for the Institution Profiling Wizard (IPW), which allows Scopus users to provide feedback on the metadata and relationships captured for their organizations in OrgDB. Responsibilities Define the vision and roadmap for the domain in line with technical and commercial goals for the RDP Identify and understand new customer needs and propose solutions to address the needs, including working with product leads for flagship products such as Scopus, Scival, and Pure Work with key RDP stakeholders including portfolio leadership and Domain Tech and Operations Leads on developing viable business cases that demonstrate a clear commercial benefit Work closely with the OrgDB curation team on defining the vision and policies for the OrgDB product; and with the Data Analytics team on evaluating the impact of algorithmic changes to the matching system or changes to OrgDB Develop a deep understanding of systems and processes managed by the Organization Domain and be the domain expert in internal meetings as well as in customer facing meetings Work with other domains on identifying cross-domain collaboration and dependencies Provide regular updates regarding domain activities to RDP leadership and to the wider Research Data Platform community in townhalls Work cooperatively with other team members in Delhi, Bangalore, Amsterdam and other locations Requirements 5+ years in Product Management and preferably 10 years in the industry in product development roles Msc. degree, preferably in a technical field or area Ability to successfully develop and grow products using data-driven, iterative product development Ability to work cross functionally; partnering with Technology, Sales and Marketing; working across offices in different parts of the world Ability to work with clients and represent Elsevier externally Experience in managing product managers and product development professionals ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Elsevier is an equal opportunity employer: qualified applicants are considered for and treated during employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, national origin, citizenship status, disability status, protected veteran status, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by law.
