Are you looking for a career where you can use your skills and talents to change the world? - You have that opportunity to help kids with cancer and their families find hope, joy, and the healing power of the outdoors through Care Camps. - We are looking for an experienced, talented marketing and communications manager to help us grow our charity to meet the needs of these precious kids.ObjectiveThe Marketing & Communications Manager will create and execute a compelling written and visual communications strategy to support the mission of Care Camps, with the goal to increase awareness and raise funds to help children with cancer and their families experience the joy, hope, and healing power of the outdoors at special oncology camps and programs. -Our Marketing and Communications Manager will be experienced in and responsible for creation of content and integration of multiple marketing mediums to tell our brand story and support fundraising efforts. - This position will create social, digital, video, and print advertising, and will be responsible for increasing the visibility of Care Camps with the goal of growing donor support of the charity. -The position will collaborate with the Director of Development to design and implement Care Camps strategic marketing and communications plans. - You will also actively work with our corporate partners to help them communicate their philanthropic impact and corporate social responsibility initiatives that support Care Camps. -
Primary Duties
The Communications Manager will report to the Director of Development and be responsible to:

  • Communicate Care Camps organizational goals, mission, and vision to internal and external stakeholders with the goal to increase organizational recognition and fundraising success.
  • Create and implement impactful marketing initiatives across social and digital media, as well as email and print campaigns that are designed to support growth of donations to the charity.
  • Partner with the Care Camps team to create and maintain Care Camps' brand standards and ensure consistent style and voice for the charity on all written communications and marketing materials.
  • Research and write compelling stories that communicate the heart of our mission in a way that stimulates passion and commitment to the cause by telling the story of the children we serve and how Care Camps impacts their lives.
  • Collaborate with the Care Camps staff and partners to find new and innovative ways to increase awareness of our cause and raise funds.
  • Serve as secondary point-of-contact for Care Camps media relations with the Director of Development.Social Media and Digital Communications (60%)
    • Create a compelling and engaging social media and email content strategy designed to reach new donors, increase average giving per donor, and ensure current partners feel connected and engaged with the cause.
    • Develop and deliver captivating content to be used on social media, website blog, email campaigns, and across traditional media channels to help donors feel recognized, appreciated, and committed. This includes managing the editorial calendar, researching, content development, writing, editing, basic graphic design, video editing, and scheduled publishing on all social media, blog, and email platforms.
    • Design and manage effective paid social media campaigns, including Facebook, Instagram, Google, and YouTube.
    • Work with camps and COCA partners to collect necessary marketing materials, including photography, videography, stories, and testimonials from the kids and camps, and look for ways to increase our ability to connect with the kids and families we serve.
    • Develop successful e-mail strategy and implement campaigns to increase engagement with current donors. This position will be responsible for creating email content, along with testing and sending emails, managing distribution lists and subscriber administration.
    • Use analytic tools to assess and report upon the effectiveness and impact of existing web, email, and social media initiatives, as well as determine new opportunities or strategies based on available data.
    • Work with Director of Development and key partners to create customized cause marketing content for their social media and digital channels to showcase their support of the cause and increase the "feel good" for both employees and customers.
    • Stay continuously up-to-date on current social and digital marketing trends and opportunities; research and implement new strategies as needed.
    • Conceptualize, research, & write compelling stories each month that engage Care Camps existing audience and help us reach new donors
    • Develop content for Chairman's Club newsletterMarketing for Presentations and Events (25%)
      • Create partnership videos, Powerpoint presentations, marketing materials and other collateral for donor meetings, conferences, trade shows, and fundraising events.
      • Manage the development, design, formatting, and production of collateral materials for Care Camps, including working with the graphic designer and printer.Print Communications and Marketing Materials (15%)
        • Develop content and produce Care Camps annual report, coordinating with Care Camps staff.
        • Develop and maintain digital and print marketing collateral related to fundraising, including the "FUN-raising" toolkit on the Care Camps website.
        • Work with the Director of Development and key staff to develop effective donor recruitment and retention tools for the donor onboarding pipeline.Other Responsibilities and Expectations
          • Represent Care Camps in a professional manner at conferences, trade shows, as well as to donors, media, camp staff, and other Care Camps constituents. Occasional travel will be required to key meetings and events. - (Estimated 3-6 times per year.)
          • Work with Care Camps team and corporate partners to develop a donor stewardship plan
          • Perform other job duties as assigned.ExperienceEligible candidates have at least 5 years of experience in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, fundraising, or a related field. -Candidates must:
            • Demonstrate superior writing and editing skills
            • Have experience in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and email management systems
            • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to create and manage effective social media ads and campaigns that are compelling and engaging
            • Cultivate relationships and work effectively with internal and external constituents
            • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, be self-directed, anticipate issues, and problem solve
            • Demonstrate their experience and knowledge of:
              • Graphic design software programs such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, or Canva
              • CRM systems such as Salesforce or Salsa, and email campaigns
              • Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Teams
              • Paid advertising strategies for social media
              • Database -management
              • Video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Filmora, iMovie, or Final CutProAdditional InformationReports to: -Director of DevelopmentClassification: - Full-time (40 hours/week)Compensation: -Salary range $60,000 to $70,000 depending on experienceBenefits:
