Job Description:

Looking for a dynamic and highly organized individual who has the energy and dedication to support Head Start families in the Billings Community to join our team. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS A four-year degree in Social Services or related field and a minimum of two years of experience supervising employees (experience supervising employees who work with low-income children and families preferred). ESSENTIAL SKILLS Must maintain self-control and manage difficult or emotional situations with tact and professionalism. Must communicate clearly, both orally and in written format. Must be organized to ensure timely and accurate documentation of required records and reports. Must demonstrate respect and sensitivity at all times for cultural, racial and economic differences. Must treat others with respect and consideration to foster a teamwork environment. Must support and advocate the program''s approach to child development and education. Must be able to use computer technology and understand its application to organizational and/or departmental function. Must model leadership in employee relations through effective communications, guidance, leadership, training and coaching. Engages parents and families and forms mutually supportive relationships with them. ESSENTIAL DUTIES 1. Ensures that Family Services, Family Involvement, Disabilities, and Health Procedures are updated annually. 2. Continually monitors Child Plus data from staff to ensure compliance with Performance Standards and for accuracy for the Program Information Report (PIR). 3. Coordinates and monitors staff efforts to ensure high quality services. 4. When appropriate, actively participate in community agency activities on behalf of Head Start children. 5. Meets regularly with appropriate staff and program and community members to plan joint services,discuss facility issues, and develop collaborative relationshipsthat enhance services to all Head Start children and their families. 6. Travels between Explorers Academy locations to supervise and coordinate the work of the entire Family Services component. 7. Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and Montana Childcare Licensing Regulations. SUPERVISORY Set goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with company''s plans and vision and communicate them to subordinates Organize workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching Receive complaints and resolve problems Maintain timekeeping and personnel records Work in partnership with other agency supervisors to ensure effective communication with team members Hire and train new employees Ensure adherence to legal and company policies and procedures and undertake disciplinary actions if the need arises. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. WORKING CONDITIONS The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee supervises children indoors and outdoors, is exposed to changing weather conditions, travels by vehicle, and may work in varied residential environments.
