Overview: As a Food Service Worker at Insert Hospital Name , you will play a crucial role in ensuring the nutritional needs of patients, visitors, and staff are met with high-quality food and service. You will work within a dynamic team environment, providing essential support in various aspects of food preparation, distribution, and sanitation within the hospital's food service department. Responsibilities: Prepare and assemble food items according to established recipes, portion control guidelines, and dietary restrictions. Ensure timely delivery and distribution of meals to patients' rooms, dining areas, and other designated locations within the hospital. Assist in the setup and cleanup of serving areas, including stocking supplies, utensils, and condiments. Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures at all times, including handling, storage, and disposal of food items. Collaborate with kitchen staff, dietary aides, and other team members to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures regarding patient dietary requirements, allergies, and special requests. Provide friendly, courteous service to patients, visitors, and staff while addressing any questions or concerns related to meal service. Maintain accurate records of food inventory, temperature logs, and other documentation as required. Participate in training sessions and departmental meetings to stay informed about updates in policies, procedures, and safety protocols. Qualifications: Previous experience in food service, preferably in a healthcare or institutional setting, is desirable but not required. Basic knowledge of food safety standards and regulations. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively. Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude. Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed. Physical ability to lift and carry trays, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks. Willingness to undergo background checks and health screenings in compliance with hospital regulations.Job Types: Part-time, ContractPay: From $15.50 per hourExpected hours: No more than 40 per week
